1. Triveni Sangam
According to Hindu tradition, Triveni Sangam is the point where the three rivers Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati merge. A bath here said to flush away all of one's sins and free from the cycle of rebirth.Thousands of devotees visit Sangam every year .This is the only place where historic Kumbh Mela held every 12 years. At Sangam Ghat , you can enjoy boating also.
2. Kumbh Mela
According to Hindu culture, it is a pilgrimage where Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river.It held once in 12 years.Thousands of people visit Kumbh mela and show their devotion.One of the major events of Kumbh Mela is the Peshwai Procession, which marks the arrival of the members of an akhara or sect of sadhus at the Kumbh Mela. The major event of the festival is ritual bathing at the banks of the river in whichever town Kumbh Mela being held: Ganga in Haridwar, Godavari in Nasik, Kshipra in Ujjain and Sangam (confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati) in Allahabad (Prayag).
3. Allahabad Fort
Allahabad fort was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1583. This fort is situated just on the bank of river Yamuna with the confluence of Ganga. Allahabad Fort was named "illahabas"(blessed by god) by Akbar. According to archaeological survey, Allahabad fort is considered as a monument of national importance.
4. Jawahar Planetarium
Jawahar Planetarium was built in 1979 and is situated beside the Anand Bhawan which was the residence of Nehru Gandhi family but now established as a museum. It is a science museum which attracts school students. It organises fascinating sky shows on astronomy and science.
5. Anand Bhawan
Anand Bhawan is the former residence of Nehru Gandhi family. But in 1970, it was donated to Indian government by then prime minister Indira Gandhi. Then it was established as a museum. Jawahar Planetarium is situated in Anand Bhawan.
